The inaugural Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will take place in Okeechobee, Florida March 3 – 6 with a varied lineup that includes Mumford & Sons, Skrillex, Robert Plant, Hall & Oates, The Avett Brothers, Ween and many others. Okeechobee has been co-founded by Paul Peck, a member of the creative team behind Bonnaroo’s famed SuperJams. This morning, the lineup for the PoWoW! SuperJam has been revealed.
As Pitchfork reports, Win Butler of Arcade Fire and Miguel have been tapped as co-creative directors of PoWow! The pair will be joined by John Oates of Hall & Oates, legendary bassist George Porter Jr. and drummer Zigaboo Modeliste of The Meters, Kamasi Washington, New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Lettuce and Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno and keyboardist Neal Evans as well as turntablist Chris Karns. Expect “very special guests” to add to the set.
“This is a group of artists, each at the pinnacle of their respective genres, but this performance will obliterate genre barriers and create an epic dance party under the stars at Okeechobee 2016,” said Peck in a statement. “I love surprises, so you can be sure we’ve got a few major tricks up our sleeve.” A variety of ticketing options for Okeechobee are available now.
