Foundation Of Funk featuring drummer Zigaboo Modeliste and bassist George Porter, Jr. of The Meters will make their Northeast debut with special guests guitarist Eric Krasno and keyboardist Neal Evans at a series of five shows this May. The members of Lettuce/Soulive will team with GPJ and Zigaboo to pay tribute to the music of The Meters.
The run begins at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston on May 17. Foundation Of Funk and their guests then perform at The Howard Theater in Washington, D.C. on May 18 followed by a show at The Rex Theater in Pittsburgh on May 19. The quartet brings the brief tour to a close with appearances at Brooklyn’s The Hall At MP on May 20 and Ardmore Music Hall’s Live From The Lot near Philadelphia on May 21.
Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday, March 11 at 10 a.m. CT via venue websites and box office locations with the exception of Live From The Lot for which tickets are already available. First up for Foundation Of Funk is an appearance at House Of Blues New Orleans during Jazz Fest on April 23 featuring special guests Ivan Neville and Tony Hall of Dumpstaphunk.
